Why am I raising my prices for Club Dogwood?

I know this is a strange article to write, after all, most business owners don’t shine a light on the fact that they’re raising their prices!

Yet, I wanted to tell you why I’m raising the price of Club Dogwood–an international community of dog lovers who enjoy relaxing, stress-free walks and time with their dogs.

I’m aware that costs everywhere–not just in the UK–are rising. I know it’s a squeeze for many dog owners out there.

But that’s why, even though the price of Club Dogwood is going up, it’s still accessible and affordable. You’re not ‘tied in’, and you can cancel at any time.

Willow’s human, Sarah says, ‘the price you charge versus the content and on-tap advice on the FB site is ridiculous when you compare it to the cost of a 1-2-1 session.’

So why am I raising my prices for Club Dogwood? Let’s find out…

Dog on top of a mountain

But first thing’s first, let me help you recession-proof your dog

You’ve probably heard the dreaded ‘R’ word a lot right now, haven’t you?

It feels like everyone and their dog (see what I did there) are telling you to cut costs and make savings.

But here’s a surprising thing you should do: invest in yourself.

Warren Buffet, who knows a thing or two about investing, recently said, “The best investment by far is anything that develops yourself, and it’s not taxed at all.”

I couldn’t agree more. Invest in developing YOURSELF. Your skills, your abilities, your education.

Because, as Buffett suggests, ‘whatever abilities you have can’t be taken away from you. They can’t actually be inflated away from you."

What I love about Club Dogwood is YOU become the expert. We teach you how to be an independent expert on your own dog. When you invest in our club, you invest in yourself (and your dog too, of course!)

But why not just invest in dog training?

Your dog is different, and you need an individualised approach to improve their behaviour. And who better to understand your dog than you, right? You’re the one who knows them better than anyone!

Yes, you can do recall training, loose lead walking or socialisation sessions, but these trainings don’t get to the heart of the problem.

They don’t help you diagnose what’s happening with your dog on a deeper level. And they don’t help you approach your training based on your dog’s needs, temperament, and personality.

That’s why Club Dogwood helps you recession-proof your dog. Because…

  • You won’t have to spend money with expert dog trainers continuously. Instead, you become the independent expert in your own dog

  • You get to the heart of the problem and help your dog on a deeper level instead of wasting time on the quick-fix methods that work for a little while…but then don’t!

  • You’ll have the freedom to go out when and where you want with your dog without worrying about their behaviour and what they’re going to do next. A little investment now is way worth it for what you’ll get back in the future.

Ultimately, when you invest in Club Dogwood, you invest in yourself - by giving yourself more time and less stress.

What is Club Dogwood?

We’re a community of over 300 dog owners who enjoy spending time with our dogs in the house, on walks, at the beach, on holiday - wherever we may want to go.

We come together to understand how to make our dogs’ lives (and our lives) better. There are highly structured courses, group coaching and community support, which are all part of Club Dogwood.

What is the price going from and to?

The price will increase from £29 per month to £39.00 per month from Sunday, 18 September 2022.

Be aware, if you’re reading this before Sunday, 18 September, you can still get in at the current price AND keep that price for life!

Why am I raising my prices for Club Dogwood?

Dog jumping in leaves

I launched Club Dogwood in 2020, and it’s safe to say, the community has now become a huge part of my life. There is honestly nothing I love more than helping members finally find the confidence to walk their dogs without having to worry about their behaviour.

The reasons I’m raising my prices are all things that benefit my members. In a nutshell, we’re investing more time and resources into the club–adding new things and making sure every member achieves their goal of having stress-free walks.

Here are some of the new elements we’ve added to Club Dogwood:

  1. Longer strategy calls

When you first join Club Dogwood, you’ll be invited to a 1-2-1 private strategy call with a member of the team, where we’ll discuss what you’re struggling with and exactly how you can improve.

You’ll leave the call with a clear action plan, which will tell you the next steps you need to take to transform your dog’s behaviour.

Our members LOVE these calls as they get to speak to an expert who understands their problems and gives them the next important steps to fix them.

To buy this just on its own would cost £75.

2. The Scentventure Scheduler

Don’t you just love finishing a long day at work and heading straight to a long, tedious training session? No. We don’t either!

This is why we created the Scentventure Scheduler that will rid you of feeling overwhelmed and stressed in just three simple steps.

We’ll help you identify your dog’s behavioural problems (rather than guessing them, which leads to all sorts of problems). From there, we’ll help you set your goals and outline the next steps to improve your dog’s behaviour.

3. The streamlined roadmap

It can all feel a little overwhelming approaching dog training. This might be your first time or your 100th time trying to do it, and it never gets any easier.

Of course, the first problem is that it’s difficult to know where to start.

That’s why I streamlined the roadmap course, which is aimed at all new members to take them through everything from your mindset to diagnosing problems, unlearning common mistakes to avoiding triggers–everything you need is right there in ordered, bite-sized videos that make up the course.

You can go through the course at your own pace–just one 5 minute video a day will make a HUGE difference.

4. Access to our Guides

Our team of Scentventure Guides, Justine, Emily, Sarah, Rachael, Robyn and Helen, are on hand to answer any and all questions you have. Our Guides are so popular with Club Dogwood’s members I’ve recently hired a new Guide, Robyn!

As community members, Emma (and her dog, Buster, of course) said:

‘The unlimited access to feedback and advice from the Scentventure Guides is far beyond what you get with standard 1-2-1 training and is accessible seven days a week, instead of a pre-booked slot once or twice a week. It’s so much easier to stay on track (or get back on the wagon) when you have a whole online community to support you and share your journey with.’’
— Emma & Buster

All the Scentventure Guides have HUGE amounts of knowledge and experience when it comes to dog training–from advanced aggression to prey drive, scent tracking to sensory integration–these amazing, knowledgeable people are keeping up to date with the latest science, research and techniques.

They are here to guide you through the process in our Facebook group or Club membership forum (whichever platform you prefer).

5. I spend more time in the Club

The club is my second home! There is nothing I love more than spending time in the club, helping members, answering questions, delivering group coaching sessions and creating more courses, resources and awards (yes, I did say awards!) I also bring 14 years+ of experience to this community, and I love every second of it.
